Concordia at Queen's 20060827
Photos from the exhibition game vs. the Concordia University Stingers at Richardson Stadium, August 27, 2006.
The Golden Gaels fell 24-7 to the Stingers as Concordia kicker Warren Kean hit on 5 of 7 field goal attempts with the longest from 43 yards out. Concordia's lone touchdown was on a touchdown pass from quarterback Robert Mackay to running back Patrick Okapago. The Gaels got their only scoring in the second quarter on a 38-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Danny Brannagan to
WR Rob Bagg. The Stingers who many have picked to be the team to beat in the Quebec conference, racked up 330 yards of total offence to 240 for Queen's. The Gaels attack was stymied on numerous occasions by either ill-timed penalties or picks (5), both a reflection of just one week's work at training camp. The first regular season game goes on Labour Day at 2:00pm versus Toronto at Richardson Stadium.
