LIONS DEFEAT GAELS 76-63
The Gaels (3-7) fell 76-63 this Friday night against the York Lions (6-5) while on the road.
Greg Faulkner (Kingston, Ont.) managed to lead the Gaels with 20 points while Patrick Street (Etobicoke, Ont.) contributed 13 points to their score. Nick Tufegdzich had a double-double performance for the Lions, scoring a game-high 28 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
It was a close first half with the Lions dominating the first quarter but the Gaels owning the court for most of the second quarter putting the score at a nail biting 30-28 for the Lions at halftime.
The struggle for dominance continued in the third quarter with the Lions narrowly outscoring the Gaels by three points to put York ahead 50-45. Despite being fairly evenly matched for most of the game, the Lions hit the ground running in the final quarter and pulled out of the Gaels reach to round out the night with a winning score of 76-63.
