After Queen's jumped out to a 14-point advantage by the end of the opening quarter, their offence quieted in the second frame, as the Gaels were only able to muster six points. The Blues, however, took full advantage, dropping 26 to head into halftime with a six-point advantage.
The visitors re-took the lead midway through the third quarter after going on a 12-0 streak, and went on to score a formidable 34 points in the stanza to take a five-point lead into the fourth. Queen's built the lead to as high as eight points in the fourth, but a 13-5 run by the hosts evened the game late in regulation.
