WOLEVER SCORES TWO GOALS IN THE GAELS 3-0 VICTORY OVER THE RYERSON RAMS
The Queen's (3-1-3) are coming back home with a 3-0 win over the Ryerson Rams (2-4-2) this Sunday afternoon.
GAME FLOW
The Gaels got off to a fast start against the Rams with rookie forward Jenny Wolever (Toronto) scoring the first goal in the second minute. Queen's doubled their lead over Ryerson just before halftime with Laura Callender (Ottawa) scoring her second goal of the season. In the second half Queen's put the game out of reach in the 55th minute with Wolever scoring her second goal of the game to make it 3-0, this was Wolever's fourth goal of the season which leads the team.
The Ryerson Rams played a strong game as they fired 12 shots towards goal with only 6 shots on target. Despite the effort, the Gaels offence was too much for the Rams sunday with 19 shots fired towards the net with 11 of them on net that ultimately lead them to the win over Ryerson this weekend.
Madison Tyrell (White Rock, B.C.) started for the Gaels as she made 6 saves to earn the clean sheet, while her opposing Ryerson goalkeeper Alex Armstrong made 9 saves in a losing effort.
