QUEEN'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALL TO YORK IN EXTRA TIME IN OUA SEMI-FINALS

Queen's Women's Soccer fell 3-2 to the visiting York Lions in extra time in the OUA Semifinals Wednesday night at Richardson Stadium.
A late goal by the Lions' Alexandra Quaidoo in the 119th minute sunk the Gaels, ending their season and sending York to the OUA Women's Soccer Championship on Sunday.
It was Quaidoo's second goal of the game after they evened the score 2-2 in the 65th minute.
OUA All-Star Cecilia Way (Victoria, B.C.) opened the scoring for Queen's with an unassisted goal in the sixth minute.
Jotam Chouhan evened the score for York 10 minutes later and the teams would head into half time in a 1-1 draw.
Mattie Stickler (Ottawa, Ont.) gave the Gaels' their second lead of the game in the 63rd minute, with Way recording the assist for her second point of the game.
Quaidoo evened the score again just two minutes later before netting a highlight reel goal for the winner just one minute before the end of extra time.
The Gaels finished with more shots than York 11-9, but managed just four on goal compared to the Lions' eight.
Kirstin Tynan (North Vancouver, B.C.) made eight saves for Queen's in the loss.
With the loss, the Gaels' first of the year, Queen's season is over. York advanced to the OUA Championship Game with the win.
