NO. 3 GAELS TOP YORK 41-7
The No. 3 Gaels (4-0) matched up against the York Lions (2-2) this Friday grabbing a 41-7 win and stretching their winning streak to four games.
GAME FLOW
After being topped by the Gaels in last year's OUA Quarter Final match the Lions were determined to make their mark against their main competitor in the Russel Division of the OUA getting a try down from Cheyenne Legerton and a matching conversion from Mariah Fontana early in the first half. The Gaels asserted their dominance quickly, however and scored themselves a lead of 24-7 against the Lions at halftime.
The Gaels continued to lead in the second putting up 17 points in the half and shutting down any attempts from the Lions. The Gaels were led yet again by Emma Chown (Barrie, Ont.) who put down three tries in their win. Queen's also had tries from Caitie Ryan (Kamloops, B.C.), Miranda Siefert (Regina), McKinley Hunt (King City, Ont.) and Lauren McEwen (Wasaga Beach, Ont.), who also scored three conversions in their 41-7 victory over York.
